With nothing to distract you from the intimacy of their vocals, it’s hard not to immediately connect with this young duo. Using only guitars (sometimes acoustic, sometimes electric) to back their perfectly complimentary voices, there is no chasm between you and the emotion that pulses through every heartbreakingly-honest lyric these two sing. Straightforward and beautiful, there is little doubt they will live up to their name when their debut album, Lights Out, is released.
Alice Costelloe was a member of indie-pop band Pull In Emergency and Kacey Underwood was fronting the grungy pop outfit, Little Death, when Alice’s mother brought her in to take guitar lessons from Kacey. The two immediately hit it off and decided they made more sense together than in their current, struggling bands. Their first song, “Homework,” was an instant success and was released as a 7” with a cover of “13” by Big Star as the b-side.
A second 7” was released in April of this year and contained the songs “Talk” and “Locked Up.” They’re signed to Mute Records, who will be releasing their next single, “Chair,” on August 22 followed by Lights Out on August 29. They will be touring the U.K. in August.

Wow. This is absolutely amazing how much I hate it. Boring as shit. I didn’t realize this is what counts as talent.
What kind of stuff do you like? I can surely guide you to something you’d appreciate more than this.
