The people and founders behind mySpoonful are:
Dan Cohen (@IamDanCohen) is a tech and startup guy with extensive expertise in consumer web and digital media. He’s served as CEO of Pageflakes and Personity and had gigs with Yahoo and Google. Dan is also a music collector, drummer and DJ, and loves indie rock, punk, hip-hop, and electronica. He loves making mixtapes and introducing his busy friends to new music.
Dan is responsible for mySpoonful overall and also focuses on technology and product management. Stacy also lets Dan pick some of the bands.
Stacy Horne is a veteran producer and promoter of music events, including the CMJ Music Marathon, Tibetan Freedom Concerts and the Noise Pop and Treasure Island Music festivals in the San Francisco Bay Area. Stacy has dedicated her career to discovering new artists and curating festivals, and is excited to be able to bring mySpoonful readers and listeners to the forefront of what’s new and great in independent music.
Stacy is responsible for all editorial functions at mySpoonful including the selection of featured artists and the oversight of our expert team of writers and curators.
Amos Schwartzfarb is a tech and startup guy with broad expertise in sales and operations in early stage businesses. He has been instrumental in the success of several companies including HotJobs and Business.com. Amos loves music and is the ideal example of someone that is way too busy to stay on top of all of the latest artists. He has known Stacy since college and has often relied on her to keep him in the loop with new music. Amos now uses mySpoonful as his primary source for new music, and hopes that the world does too.
Amos is responsible for sales and business development at mySpoonful.

The writers at mySpoonful include:
Mitch Kocen (@mkocenwrites) finds mySpoonful the perfect blend of his two favorite things: listening to music and telling people what to do. With a BA in Screenwriting from UC Santa Cruz and a day job supporting the marketing of an online job board, he’s excited to share new songs with the unsuspecting masses. His favorite bands are Rubber, Marching and Of Outsiders and his hobbies include hiking, video games and writing band related puns.
Veronica Young has been a music junkie since she popped out the womb and has a collection of concert tickets that could plaster a small San Francisco studio apartment. She’s written several articles, live show reviews and album reviews on independent musicians in Performer Magazine and has written for Noise Pop for the past 7 years. Currently she spends her days working at Pandora Internet Radio.
Lauren Rosenthal (metalvomit.tumblr.com) is a technical and professional writer from Southern California, who moonlights as a music writer from San Francisco. She has written album reviews, live show recaps, and bios for many interesting bands and festivals. She enjoys slides, fruit and punk rock.
Marshall Leroy Smith has been putting words to paper in every format possible for as long as he’s been able to hold a crayon. He has published award-winning fiction, served as a freelance reporter for various publications, and covered subjects ranging from the Zapatista uprising to the prose equivalent of culinary porn. An unabashed aficionado of live music, he resides in San Francisco and punches the weekday clock at Pandora Internet Radio.
